UltraFloor Prime It Grit s a ready-to-use, fast-drying primer designed to enhance adhesion, particularly on flooring-grade asphalt, bitumen, steel, existing vinyl tiles, ceramic and porcelain.
How do I prepare the surface before applying UltraFloor Prime It Grit?
All substrates must be stable, level, clean, dry, and structurally sound, free from any materials that could hinder adhesion. This includes, but is not limited to, dust, debris, grease, oil, laitance, sealers, wax, and curing compounds, all of which should be removed by mechanical means. It is also important to verify that the substrate and background are sufficiently robust to support the weight of the compound, along with any final floor or wall finishes and associated fixing products.
How do I apply UltraFloor Prime It Grit?
Before use, shake or stir thoroughly to ensure the aggregates are evenly distributed throughout the primer. Apply a thin, uniform coat across the entire surface using a paint roller, brush, or sponge. Avoid excessive application, as this can cause a surface film to form — full coverage is required, but only in a light layer. After application, allow the primer to dry until it is touch-dry before proceeding with tiling or levelling. Depending on ambient temperature, drying will typically take 15-60 minutes: warmer conditions will shorten this time while cooler temperatures will extend it. Once primed, keep the area free from foot traffic.
